Why Do My Biggest Losses Come After Winning Streaks?
Check whether your worst trades tend to arrive right after a run of wins.
Check My Biggest LossesIt is a familiar story. You string together several good trades, feel sharp, and then take a loss that wipes out most of the run. It seems unlucky, but it often has a cause: the winning streak changed how you were trading, and nothing in the moment told you.
Wins do three things. They raise confidence, which makes the next setup look better than it is. They loosen discipline, because the rules feel less necessary when things are going well. And they tend to raise position size, since a bigger stake feels deserved. A larger, looser trade placed at the end of a streak is exactly where a big loss can land.
The reverse can also be true, and the streak is a coincidence. That is why it is worth measuring rather than assuming. If your largest losses cluster after winning streaks more often than the number of such streaks would suggest, that is a pattern. If they do not, then streaks are not your problem, and you can stop worrying about them.
The analyzer below takes your largest losses and checks how many came right after three or more wins in a row, then compares that with how often such streaks occur in your history. It reports a finding only when the gap is clear.

How the check works
Your largest losses
The worst tenth of your trades by size, and at least three of them, so a single bad day cannot make a pattern.
What counts as a streak
Three or more winning trades in a row immediately before the loss.
Against the baseline
The share of your large losses that follow a streak is compared with the share of all your trades that do. If streaks are common for you, the bar is higher.

Frequently asked questions
Do winning streaks cause bigger losses?
Not by themselves. A streak is just a sequence of results. What can cause bigger losses is what the streak does to your behavior, such as larger size or looser rules. The analysis shows whether your large losses cluster after streaks and leaves the explanation to you.
How many large losses do I need for this to be reported?
At least three of your largest losses must follow a winning streak, and they must make up a clearly bigger share than streaks account for in your history. With a small number of trades, no finding is reported.
What should I check if the pattern appears?
Compare your position size and rule-following on the trades after streaks with your usual ones. If size rises, the position sizing analyzer looks at that directly.
Which file should I upload?
A CSV where each row is one finished trade with its result: your exchange's closed positions or profit-and-loss history. It needs a close time and a result, or entry price, exit price, quantity and side. A list of individual order fills is not enough, because fills cannot be paired into trades without guessing.
Is my trade history stored?
The file is read in memory and is not saved. Only the result of the analysis is kept: for 7 days if you do not sign in, or until you delete it if you save it to your account. The analyzer never asks for exchange passwords or API keys.
