TRADING PSYCHOLOGY APP
Practice the part of trading that charts can't teach
Holdy Lab is a trading psychology app for crypto traders. You trade simulated sessions, see how your risk and decisions compare with your own history, and get one small drill to work on next. No real money and no exchange connection needed.
What a trading psychology app should do
Most traders already know they should size consistently, respect a stop and avoid chasing a loss. The problem is doing it at the moment the market moves against them. Reading about discipline rarely changes that, and a journal only helps if you notice and record the right things.
A useful app closes the loop: it lets you practice in a safe setting, measures what you did rather than what you meant to do, and turns the result into a specific thing to try next time. That is the loop Holdy is built around.
How Holdy works
01
Trade a simulated session
Trader Day is a controlled simulated market session with no real money at stake. You decide when to enter, how big to go and when to get out.
02
See what you actually did
After the session Holdy shows your risk, timing and reactions to losses, compared with your own earlier sessions rather than with a stranger's average.
03
Get one drill, not a lecture
The debrief ends with a short drill aimed at the pattern that showed up most. You can start it straight away and get a reminder to come back to it.
04
Check your real trades too
Upload an exchange CSV to the Trade Analyzer and see behavior patterns in the trades you have already made. Files are processed in memory and are not stored.
Alternatives to a trading psychology app
If you are looking for an alternative, it helps to be clear what each option does well and where it stops.
A trading journal
Good for: A record of what you did and what you were thinking, written by you.
Limit: It only shows what you remember to write down, and it does not give you a place to practice the fix.
Articles, books and courses
Good for: Explain why biases happen and what the research says.
Limit: Knowing about a bias is not the same as behaving differently under pressure.
A demo or paper account
Good for: Lets you trade without risking money.
Limit: It gives you a result, not an analysis of how you reached it, so habits go unnoticed.
Holdy Lab
Good for: Combines simulated sessions, behavior metrics against your own baseline and a drill for the next session.
Limit: It is a practice and analysis tool. It does not give signals, manage money or replace a therapist.
What Holdy is not
- It does not tell you what to buy or sell, and it does not predict profits.
- It does not diagnose personality or mental health.
- It does not label you with a trader type. Patterns are shown with a sample size and a confidence level, and small samples are marked as such.
- A simulation is not live trading: stakes, slippage and emotions are different with real money.

Frequently asked questions
What is a trading psychology app?
It is software that helps you notice and change how you behave while trading, such as sizing up after a loss, overtrading or cutting winners early. Instead of only teaching theory, it measures your decisions and gives you something concrete to practice.
Does Holdy Lab replace a trading journal?
Not exactly. A journal captures your own notes and context, while Holdy measures behavior from simulated sessions and from uploaded trades. Many traders use both. If you do not keep a journal, the Trade Analyzer is a quick way to see patterns without writing anything.
Is it free?
You can start with the free Trader Day, and the Trade Analyzer gives a free summary with one detected pattern. Holdy Pro unlocks the full set of patterns and deeper analysis. See the Pro page for the current plan details.
Do I need to connect my exchange account?
No. Holdy does not ask for exchange API keys. The Trade Analyzer works from a CSV file you export and upload yourself, and the file is processed in memory rather than stored.
Can it make me profitable?
No tool can promise that. Holdy helps you see your own habits and practice changing them. Whether that improves your results depends on your strategy, your risk and the market.
