What Time of Day Do I Trade Best?
See how your wins, losses and win rate change across the trading day.
Check My Best HoursCrypto trades around the clock, which means you can trade at any hour, and most people end up trading when it suits their life rather than when it suits their results. Over time that creates something worth looking at: the hours you trade are not equally good for you.
Your performance can vary by time of day for ordinary reasons. Liquidity and volatility differ between the Asian, European and US sessions. Your own focus differs too: the last hour of a long day, a trade placed half-asleep, or one squeezed in between meetings is not the same trade as one placed when you are fresh.
The danger is guessing. People remember the trades that felt good or bad rather than the average, and often blame the wrong hours. Your trade history records the time of every trade, so the question can be answered with data instead.
The analyzer groups your trades into three UTC blocks, Asia 00:00 to 08:00, Europe 08:00 to 16:00 and US 16:00 to 24:00, and compares net result and win rate. If one block is clearly profitable and another is not, you will see it. If your results do not depend on the hour, that is a finding too.

How the comparison works
Three UTC blocks
Asia, Europe and the US, with trades grouped by when they were opened.
Entry time, not exit time
When your file has an open time it is used, because the hour you decided to trade matters more than the hour you closed. Otherwise the close time is used.
A minimum sample
A block needs at least 10 trades before it is compared, so a handful of lucky or unlucky trades cannot create a finding.
Net result and win rate together
A block can win often and still lose money, or the reverse, so both are shown. For the wider picture see the trading performance analyzer.
Frequently asked questions
Which time zone does the analyzer use?
Times are read as UTC unless your file states a time zone, and the result says so. If your exchange exports local time without a label, the three blocks will be shifted by your offset, so check your export settings.
What if I have too few trades in a block?
A block needs at least 10 trades to be compared, so with a small history you may see only the basic numbers. More trades make the comparison more trustworthy, and the analysis tells you when a finding rests on little data.
Is there a best time to trade crypto in general?
Volume and volatility do vary through the day, but whether an hour suits you depends on your strategy and on your own focus, which is why your history is a better guide than a general rule.
Which file should I upload?
A CSV where each row is one finished trade with its result: your exchange's closed positions or profit-and-loss history. It needs a close time and a result, or entry price, exit price, quantity and side. A list of individual order fills is not enough, because fills cannot be paired into trades without guessing.
Is my trade history stored?
The file is read in memory and is not saved. Only the result of the analysis is kept: for 7 days if you do not sign in, or until you delete it if you save it to your account. The analyzer never asks for exchange passwords or API keys.
