Revenge Trading App

Most people who search for a revenge trading app want something that stops them from revenge trading. Be wary of promises like that. What reliably helps is knowing whether you do it, setting a rule and checking whether the rule changed your behavior. That is what Holdy Lab is built for.

What a revenge trading app should do

  1. 1

    Show it

Compare how you trade after a loss with how you trade after a win: waiting time and position size, against your own baseline.

  2. 2

    Say how sure it is

State how many trades the comparison rests on, and call a small sample an early sign.

  3. 3

    Help you interrupt it

Turn the finding into one rule you can test, such as a pause after a loss or a cap on size.

  4. 4

    Check that the rule worked

Run the same measurement again after the rule, so you know whether your behavior moved.

What Holdy Lab does

  • Trader Day records your decisions in a controlled simulated session: how quickly you re-enter after a loss, whether your size grows, whether your risk settings change when the session turns against you.
  • The debrief shows these patterns against your own baseline, with the number of observations behind each, and suggests one small drill.
  • The Trade Analyzer reads an exported trade history and checks for faster re-entry and larger size after losses. The file is processed in memory and is not stored.

The measurement behind it is simple enough to run yourself in a spreadsheet, and it is explained step by step in how to stop revenge trading.

A rule worth testing

Pick one rule and keep it for a fixed number of trades: a pause after every loss, a ceiling on size, or a daily loss limit that ends the session. The numbers are yours to choose. Then measure again. If the wait and the size after losses move toward what they are after wins, and stay there, the rule is working for you.

More on building rules that hold up under pressure in if-then rules for trading discipline and why losses push people toward larger risks in revenge trading and the break-even effect.

What Holdy Lab does not do

  • It does not block orders or step in while you trade. It is not connected to your exchange.
  • It does not read your emotions or your intent. It measures what you did.
  • It is not a phone app yet. You use it in the browser.
  • It does not give signals or financial advice, and it is not therapy.

See the Risk Disclaimer. A simulation is not live trading.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an app that stops revenge trading in the moment?

Tools that block orders need a connection to your exchange or broker account and are limited by what that connection allows. Holdy Lab does not do that. It works before and after: it shows whether you revenge trade, helps you set a rule and checks whether the rule changed your behavior.

How does it know that I am revenge trading?

It does not know your motive. It measures two things that revenge trading usually changes: how soon you trade again after a loss and how large the next position is, each compared with what you do after a win. A shorter wait or a larger size, repeated across enough trades, is a sign worth acting on.

Do I need to connect my exchange account?

No. Trader Day runs on the site without any connection. For trades you have already made, you upload an exported file to the Trade Analyzer, which does not need API keys.

Is it free?

Trader Day is free to start, and the Trade Analyzer shows a free summary with one detected pattern. Holdy Pro unlocks the full analysis and the full behavioral profile.

How many trades do I need before the result means anything?

The comparison needs at least eight trades after losses and eight after wins to say anything, and under about fifty trades you should read any result as an early sign.
